Job Overview:
We are hiring immediately for an experienced Centrifugal Air Compressor Service Technician to support customers in the Indianapolis, IN region. If you have hands-on experience with centrifugal compressors and want consistent work, strong pay, and a fast hiring process, we want to talk to you now.
Responsibilities:
Install, service, troubleshoot, and repair centrifugal air compressors.
Perform preventive maintenance and emergency service calls.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system issues.
Travel to customer sites throughout the Indianapolis, IN and surrounding area.
Communicate directly with customers on equipment status and repairs.
Requirements:
- At least 2 years experience of troubleshooting industrial/commercial mechanical systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must possess a valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to: DUI in the previous 5 years, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 5 years.
- Field service or industrial maintenance background.
This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, and kneeling, and requires employees to regularly lift and or move weight limits in line with the safety policy.
Core Competencies:
Operating knowledge of Microsoft office software and other basic computer usage.
Proficiency with hand held computer (i.e. Smartphone, iPad) and network bases.
Excellent verbal/written communication skills and customer service skills including conflict resolution, communication, negotiation, etc.
Preferences:
Desired degree program in Electrical/Electronic Technology.
Refrigeration systems and/or refrigerant certification.
Basic knowledge with
HVAC, AC/DC
circuits, wiring diagrams, schematics, motors, controls, PLC.
Experience on compressed air systems/centrifugal technologies.
Experience with service, diagnosis, and startup of both rotary and centrifugal air compressors, dryers, cooling towers, and filtration systems.
Military experience and/or sufficient mechanical working experience is a plus.
OEM or distributor experience.
OEM training (Ingersoll Rand, Kaeser, Hitachi, etc.) is a plus.
Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements:
Daily travel to customer sites, occasional overtime, and regular overnight stays required.
Pay Range:
Starting pay will range between $35.00 - $45.00 per hour depending on multiple factors, including candidate qualifications and experience. It is not typical for candidates to be paid at the top of the range. This is a full-time, hourly position.
