Job Description

We are seeking a hands-on Systems Administrator to support and maintain our IT infrastructure while ensuring the security, reliability, and performance of our systems and networks. This role requires a strong technical foundation in server administration, network management, and cybersecurity, along with the ability to provide end-user support and mentor a junior IT team member. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of relevant experience, enjoy working in a collaborative office environment, and be comfortable balancing strategic infrastructure responsibilities with day-to-day technical support needs. Key Responsibilities Administer and maintain Windows server environments, network systems, and related infrastructure. Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize network performance, connectivity, and security. Implement and maintain security controls, patch management, endpoint protection, and access management processes. Manage user accounts, permissions, group policies, and system configurations. Perform system backups, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity support. Monitor system health, investigate incidents, and resolve infrastructure-related issues. Provide technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and other office technology. Assist with workstation deployment, hardware installations, software upgrades, and equipment configuration. Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, networking, and printer-related issues. Document systems, procedures, and support activities. Mentor and train a junior IT support employee, providing guidance, knowledge transfer, and professional development. Collaborate with management to identify and implement technology improvements. Required Qualifications 5-7 years of experience in systems administration, network administration, or infrastructure support roles. Strong experience supporting Windows Server environments. Experience managing network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networks. Knowledge of server and network security best practices. Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Microsoft 365 environments. Proven troubleshooting skills across servers, networking, workstations, and peripheral devices. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Experience training, mentoring, or providing technical guidance to junior team members. Preferred Qualifications Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, Microsoft, Cisco, or equivalent. Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V. Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions. Experience with endpoint management and monitoring tools. Work Environment Full-time, on-site position in the Bossier City/Shreveport area . This is not a remote role; regular in-office presence is required. Position includes both infrastructure-level responsibilities and hands-on support for end-user technology needs.
