Job Summary:
We are seeking a Jr Systems Administrator with strong Windows/Linux, VMware, Cable Plans experience to support critical production systems in a large enterprise environment. This role will also support NFS/storage migrations across approximately 200 application teams , requiring strong technical communication, coordination, troubleshooting, and project execution skills. The position supports a 24×7 production environment and requires participation in an on-call rotation and scheduled after-hours maintenance activities.
Responsibilities:
Administer and support Windows/Linux , including hardware and operating system support. Plan, coordinate, communicate, and implement server patching activities while minimizing production impact. Support and administer VMware vSphere hypervisor environments supporting highly available virtualized servers. Monitor and maintain the health, performance, availability, and reliability of Linux and VMware platforms. Configure and maintain server processes, system configurations, backups, and related infrastructure. Discuss technical migration options, requirements, dependencies, and implementation plans with application teams. Complete and track scheduled data migrations while meeting project timelines. Support physical and virtual server infrastructure, including datacenter racking and stacking activities. Maintain accurate server inventory and configuration information within configuration management databases. Support production change management and release management processes. Plan and implement infrastructure changes across production and development environments. Troubleshoot server, operating system, virtualization, storage, and infrastructure issues. Refine and automate recurring administrative processes using scripting and automation. Track technical issues, document changes, and maintain accurate operational documentation. Support backups and work with SAN, NAS, RAID, and storage infrastructure as required. Provide technical guidance to IT and business partners regarding infrastructure and server solutions. Coordinate with application, infrastructure, engineering, security, and other technical teams. Participate in 24×7 on-call rotation for critical production systems. Perform scheduled maintenance, release deployments, patching, and infrastructure activities during after-hours windows. Assist with evaluating and implementing new on-premises and cloud infrastructure technologies. Maintain high availability, reliability, security, and performance of enterprise server environments.
Must have:
Windows or Linux background VMware experience Experience with cable plans. Ability to travel domestically as needed.

experience. Previous experience supporting RTSS patching activities in a utility or critical infrastructure environment. Experience working in a Fortune 200-500 / large enterprise environment . Experience with large financial institutions such as BMO, Chase, Bank of America , or similar large-scale organizations. Previous Exelon/utility infrastructure experience . Experience administering Solaris . Experience with Oracle Enterprise Linux (OEL) . Experience with Oracle Exadata hardware. Experience administering servers in Microsoft Azure and/or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) . Strong Shell scripting and/or Python experience. Experience with Zerto . VMware certification and/or Red Hat Enterprise Linux certification . Azure Administrator or Oracle Cloud Administrator certification. Experience with physical datacenter infrastructure, server racking, cabling, and hardware installation. Experience supporting high-availability, mission-critical production environments.
