- Utilize Network Management Systems (NMS) to oversee server health, bandwidth utilization, and application availability.
- Identify anomalies, document incidents, assess severity, and initiate first-level troubleshooting.
- Participate in major incident and priority outage bridges, including operational calls and status-focused management calls for Priority 1 and Priority 2 incidents.
- Route unresolved, complex network or security issues to Tier 2/3 engineers or external vendors
- Maintain knowledge bases, log tickets (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow), and generate reports on network health and performance metrics
- Strong understanding of LAN/WAN configurations, routing/switching protocols, firewalls, and server environments
- NOCs operate 24/7/365, requiring engineers to work rotating shifts, nights, or weekends
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with end users and team members
- Problem-solving skills around analyzing issues, critical thinking, creativity, and finding solutions quickly
- Collaborating with different teams to address complex issues
