The Information Technology Support Technician is one of the first points of contact for Amherst Middle School staff, faculty and students seeking technical assistance for campus technology issues. They serve as members of the SAU-39's Information Technology Team by providing technical support and maintaining the smooth operation of the district's technical operations.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college and/or equivalent combination of education and IT experience.

Experience in Help Desk Support (2+ years).

Experience in Desktop Management (ex: Intune), TCP/IP, File/Print Sharing, Switches, and Web based technologies.

Appropriate industry certifications and/or technical training.

Required criminal history check and proof of U.S. citizenship or resident alien status.

Preferred Skills:

Friendly presence and helpful attitude; good interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others. Previous customer service experience strongly desired.

Good problem solving skills.

Ability to handle constantly changing flow of traffic.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Basic hardware troubleshooting, repairs, and replacement of staff and student devices (i.e. 1:1's and computer labs) including additional components.

Configure and deploy new computers and software.

Staff and student account maintenance (Active Directory).

Troubleshooting operating system and application problems (Windows, MacOS).

Support and repair of in-classroom technology and components (Smartboards/projectors/AV Equipment/etc).

Aid in network cable runs, connection terminations to patch panel and outlets as well as testing of switches hubs, and existing cabling for functionality.

Support setup and operation of A/V technologies for administrative and school events.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Office 365 and G-Suite for Education.

Maintain a clean and accurate inventory of technology items.

Follow standard Help Desk operating procedures; accurately log all Help Desk issues using ticketing software.

Train and assist staff and students in the use of ancillary software tools (Slack, Zoom, Office365, and others as assigned).

Maintenance of a Knowledge Base library to assist both staff and students in finding solutions to common technology problems.

Helps determine building tech needs.

Works with the Director of Information Technology to prepare the budget for school tech accounts based on the tech needs of the building.

Tasks and projects as assigned by the Director of Information Technology in collaboration with building Admin.

Special Position Requirements:

Holds a valid driver's license.

May require the ability to lift up to 50lbs, bending, squatting, driving, sitting for long periods of time, standing for long periods of time, climbing, walking, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, grasping, reaching, crouching and crawling.

Occasionally able to work beyond normal business hours.
