POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for executing efforts to manage IT Rooms (IDF's and MDF's) on multiple site locations. The resource must collaborate with appropriate stakeholders to ensure efforts are successful.RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Responsible for executing day-to-day operational and project tasks for IDFs and MDFs. 2. Responsibilities include executing efforts in IDF's and MDF's relating to LVC, space, power, and cooling. 3. Assists IT room remediation team with project tasks and provides day two support for LVC remediations. 4. Works with local real estate services and engineering to address any power or cooling deficiencies. 5. Works with appropriate teams to address security concerns regarding IDFs and MDFs. 6. Recommends and implements cable plant infrastructure solutions to resolve issues. 7. Responsible for cleaning out IT rooms as needed to bring rooms to a serviceable condition. 8. Performs port scrubs in IDF/MDF room. 9. Decommissioning and coordinating removal of legacy equipment from IT rooms. 10. Creates/Updates Rack Elevations for IDFs/MDFs. Networking knowledge is a nice to have (understand distribution switches and access layer switches).Day to day:
They will be going to various sites to survey/assess the current equipment in the closets, document what's there/create rack elevations, and assist with the remediation/clean up of the environment and/or provide operational support if something is failing. Might include removing dead cables, cleaning up the room and decomming equipment, sometimes installing new equipment or racking equipment in a frame, cabinet or on the wall, etc. Must be willing to travel (need to have their own vehicle) - majority of their travel would be through Staten Island, Manhattan and Westchester, but they could be called upon to also attend sites in the boroughs or Long Island when needed, so need to be flexible. Will be reimbursed for tolls and mileage Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of New York, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $37.00 - $45.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
