The company focuses on retrofitting existing properties with fiber optic infrastructure to improve connectivity and network performance. Fiberwave Technologies partners with property owners and managers to design and implement reliable, high-speed internet solutions tailored to resident and tenant needs. Team members have the opportunity to work with modern network technologies in a growing segment of the telecommunications industry. Role Description The VoIP Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Layton, UT. This role is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining VoIP and telephony systems across customer properties, including integrating services with existing network infrastructure. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing and resolving VoIP and network issues, performing routine system checks, and providing hands-on technical support to property staff and residents. The VoIP Technician will document system configurations, maintain accurate service records, and collaborate with network engineers and project teams to ensure stable, high-quality voice services. This position requires regular on-site visits within assigned properties and adherence to safety and quality standards. Qualifications Strong troubleshooting and technical support skills for voice and data services. Hands-on experience with Voice over IP (VoIP) systems and telephony technologies. Knowledge of network administration, including routers, switches, VLANs, and QoS. Ability to interpret technical documentation and use diagnostic tools and test equipment. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or VoIP-focused credentials) are beneficial. Previous experience in telecommunications, ISP, or managed services environments is preferred. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Capacity to work on-site, lift and move equipment as needed, and travel locally to customer properties.
