Primary Function:
Responsible for enabling agile delivery of complex, secure, and mission-critical software and system solutions. They facilitate Scrum ceremonies, remove impediments, and serve as servant-leaders for agile teams developing systems that support national defense operations. In a high-assurance, compliance-driven environment, they also ensure agile practices are aligned with DoD acquisition frameworks, RMF (Risk Management Framework), Earned Value Management (EVM), and program security requirements.Essential Responsibilities:
Facilitate core Scrum ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives) under mentorship, ensuring consistent agile cadence. Support team-of-teams activities, such as Program Increment Planning, by assisting with preparation, logistics, and basic facilitation. Help the team identify and track impediments; escalate or assist in resolving issues with guidance from a mentor or senior Scrum Master. Assist in assessing team training and development needs, coordinating with leadership to provide resources and learning opportunities. Provide introductory coaching and mentoring to team members on Agile principles and practices, reinforcing continuous improvement. Support creation and light automation of team metrics and dashboards; assist in reporting and communicating trends that inform team health discussions. Help maintain and groom multiple product backlogs by collaborating with Product Owners and/or Team Leads to ensure clarity, prioritization, and readiness. Conduct daily stand-up and retrospective meetings, ensuring follow-through on action items with oversight. Monitor key team performance metrics and partner with the team to identify areas for incremental improvement. Facilitate clear communication within and across teams, helping ensure alignment and transparency with basic stakeholder groups. Contribute to fostering a safe, secure, and collaborative development environment, and perform additional duties as assigned.Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree + 1-3 years' experience. Entry-level Agile/PM experience. Experience with software backlog management tools, such as JIRA. Current Security Clearance or ability to obtain one upon hire.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience serving in a Scrum Master role for at least two years for engineering teams that were diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory. Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or SAFe Agilist preferred. Experience with metrics collection and associated tools (Excel, Confluence) Excellent communication and mentoring skills.Position Benefits:
