Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Desktop Application Developer to join our dynamic technology team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in software development, with expertise in designing, building, and maintaining robust desktop applications across various platforms. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects, utilizing a diverse set of technologies including web development frameworks, cloud services, and database management. The successful applicant will be instrumental in delivering high-quality software solutions that enhance operational efficiency and user experience within a fast-paced environment. Duties Design, develop, and maintain desktop applications using languages such as C#, C++, Java, and Python, ensuring they meet functional and performance requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications for application development. Implement RESTful APIs and integrate third-party services to enhance application capabilities and interoperability. Utilize version control systems like Git, SVN, and GitHub to manage code repositories effectively throughout the development lifecycle. Optimize applications for performance, security, and scalability within cloud environments such as AWS and Azure. Conduct code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure high standards of quality and reliability. Apply Agile methodologies to facilitate iterative development, continuous integration, and prompt delivery of features. Maintain documentation of software architecture, APIs, and user guides to support ongoing maintenance and future enhancements. Qualifications Proven experience in software development with a focus on desktop application creation across multiple operating systems including Linux and Windows. Proficiency in programming languages such as C#, C++, Java, Python, VBA, and JavaScript. Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components including cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), SQL databases (MySQL, SQL Server), and network protocols like REST. Familiarity with front-end development frameworks such as React Express for creating intuitive user interfaces. Knowledge of application security principles including RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) to safeguard sensitive data. Experience working within Agile environments utilizing tools like GitHub, Git, SVN for version control. Ability to develop RESTful APIs for seamless integration between applications and external services. Understanding of web development practices combined with application development skills for comprehensive solutions. Exposure to quantum engineering concepts is a plus but not mandatory; emphasis is on versatile technical expertise across software stacks.
