Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a Senior Java Developer to design, develop, and support highly available, scalable, and cloud-native applications. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Java 17+, Spring Boot, Microservices, AWS services, and modern DevOps practices. This role will be responsible for building enterprise-grade backend solutions, implementing CI/CD pipelines, developing RESTful APIs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, high-performing applications in a cloud-first environment.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, develop, and maintain highly available and scalable Java-based applications.
- Build and support cloud-native backend services using Java 17+, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.
- Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and service integrations.
- Implement modern software design patterns and engineering best practices.
- Develop and maintain microservices-based applications to support enterprise business requirements.
- Build and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate application build, testing, deployment, and release processes.
- Develop and execute unit tests, integration tests, and automated quality validations to ensure code quality and coverage.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, DevOps teams, and developers throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Participate in technical design discussions, architecture reviews, and solution planning activities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application, integration, and production support issues.
- Optimize application performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Manage source code repositories and branching strategies using GitHub.
- Utilize Artifactory or similar repository management solutions for artifact lifecycle management.
- Develop and support solutions leveraging AWS-native services and cloud infrastructure.
- Implement serverless and event-driven solutions using AWS Lambda.
- Support big data and analytics workloads using AWS EMR.
- Contribute to Agile development activities including sprint planning, estimation, and code reviews.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, deployment guides, and operational procedures.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong experience in Java development with Java 17 or higher.
- Extensive experience with Spring Boot and Microservices architecture.
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and software design patterns.
- Experience developing scalable and highly available enterprise applications.
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and automated software delivery processes.
- Hands-on experience with Jenkins or similar CI/CD tools.
- Experience with GitHub and modern version control practices.
- Experience using Artifactory or similar artifact repository management tools.
- Strong knowledge of AWS cloud services and cloud-native application development.
- Experience with AWS Lambda.
- Experience with AWS EMR.
- Knowledge of software testing methodologies, unit testing, and integration testing.
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging platforms.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK).
- Experience with AWS ECS, EKS, S3, CloudWatch, and API Gateway.
- Knowledge of performance tuning, monitoring, and observability tools.
- Experience working in large-scale enterprise cloud environments.
- Familiarity with DevOps, SRE, and cloud security best practices.
CERTIFICATIONS
- AWS Certified Developer - Associate preferred.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate preferred.
- Oracle Certified Professional Java Developer preferred.
- Spring Professional Certification preferred.
- Relevant AWS, Java, DevOps, or Cloud certifications are a plus.
