Job Summary FlyCarolina is hiring a Flight Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain software systems used in aviation and flight-related applications. This role works with engineering and technical teams to develop reliable software, troubleshoot system issues, and support software performance, safety, and quality requirements. Common Job Roles Flight Software Engineer Avionics Software Engineer Aerospace Software Engineer Embedded Software Engineer Flight Systems Engineer Key Responsibilities Design and develop software for flight-related and embedded systems Write, review, debug, and maintain software code Develop software features based on technical and system requirements Perform unit testing, integration testing, and software validation Troubleshoot software and system issues and implement corrective solutions Collaborate with avionics, systems, hardware, and engineering teams Maintain technical documentation, test procedures, and software records Support software integration and system-level testing Follow software development, quality, safety, and engineering procedures Perform additional engineering and software development duties assigned by management Requirements Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field preferred Previous software engineering, embedded systems, avionics, or aerospace experience is an asset Strong programming and software development skills Knowledge of software testing, debugging, and version-control practices Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Excellent communication and teamwork skills Ability to work with technical requirements and engineering documentation Preferred Skills Experience with C, C++, Python, or similar programming languages Knowledge of embedded systems and real-time software Familiarity with avionics or flight-control systems Experience with software development and testing tools Understanding of systems engineering and software lifecycle processes Strong attention to detail and commitment to software reliability About the Company FlyCarolina operates within the aviation industry, with a focus on flight-related services and aviation operations.
