About the

Role:

As a Founding Engineer, you'll joinas one of Client's first engineering hires, working directly with the firm's startup attorneys to turn recurring legal work into new products, AI agents, and automated workflows. This is a true zero-to-one seat - your work will directly shape how legal services are delivered to thousands of startups, and you'll own real infrastructure and product decisions from day one.

Key Responsibilities :

Design and iterate on the core Soxton product used by startups and attorneys to draft legal documents and run AI legal workflows Ship quickly, iterating based on direct feedback from senior startup attorneys and real client usage patterns Ideate and build MVPs of new legal-tech product bets Own infrastructure, architecture, and technical decisions as an early member of the team Work across the stack as needed - no fixed lane between frontend, backend, and AI/ML work Requirements A 3+ years of professional software engineering experience, in startup and/or big tech environments B Strong full-stack engineering background - production experience building modern web applications (Next.js/TypeScript) and/or AI agents/LLM-based systems C Working proficiency in Python D Comfortable owning infrastructure, architecture, and technical decisions independently in an unstructured, fast-moving environment

Bonus Skills:

• Prior experience as a founding or early engineer at a startup
• Familiarity with Supabase and Vercel
• Hands-on experience building LLM-powered products or AI agents specifically
• Legal, compliance, or legal-tech background Location New York City (Soho) - 3+ days/week in office

Interview Process :

Pay:

$120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
