Pay Rate:
$42.00 - $53.33/hour Are you passionate about emerging technologies, artificial intelligence, and smart manufacturing? Join a cutting-edge engineering team where you'll develop innovative digital solutions that improve manufacturing performance, reliability, and competitiveness. We are seeking a Computer Vision Engineer to support advanced manufacturing initiatives by designing, testing, and implementing technology solutions for plant floor applications. This role will partner with regional manufacturing teams to identify opportunities, develop proof-of-technology concepts, and deliver reliable solutions using computer vision, AI, machine learning, and IoT technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and test digital technology solutions, including vision inspection systems, AI applications, and machine/sensor data analytics. Analyze manufacturing challenges and customer needs to identify technology-driven solutions. Support IoT strategy development, implementation, and roadmap execution. Research emerging technologies and evaluate future manufacturing applications. Apply machine learning and analytical processes to support proof-of-concept and production-ready IoT projects. Interpret machine data to evaluate equipment health, performance, and product quality impacts.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience considered. 2+ years of experience in manufacturing controls, embedded systems, network design, machine learning, or data engineering (automotive manufacturing experience preferred). Knowledge of PLC controls and manufacturing systems, including Mitsubishi, Rockwell, Siemens, or Omron. Experience with computer vision algorithms including segmentation, morphology, calibration, image enhancement, feature extraction, classification, 3D vision, and deep learning. Programming experience with C++, Python, HALCON, Matrox, Cognex, and/or Keyence. Experience with vibration, audio, or current signature analysis preferred.
