As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank, Neovest team, you will be a key member of an agile team focused on building, enhancing, and delivering reliable technology products. You will contribute technical expertise across multiple areas to support the firm's business goals. Job Responsibilities Identify and implement solutions to eliminate or automate recurring issues, improving the stability of software applications and systems. Lead technical evaluations with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs and technical suitability for integration. Design, build, and troubleshoot software systems, applying creative and practical problem-solving approaches. Write secure, maintainable, and efficient code for production use; review and debug code developed by team members. Analyze recurring technical issues and develop strategies to resolve or automate them for greater system reliability. Mentor and support engineering communities by sharing knowledge and encouraging the adoption of new technologies. Foster a team culture that values diversity, inclusion, and respect. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions from concept to deployment. Ensure adherence to best practices in software development, testing, and operational support. Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Support the adoption of new tools and processes to enhance team productivity. Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience Strong experience in system design, application development, testing, and ensuring operational stability. Proficiency in C and C++ programming. Experience identifying and addressing technical challenges, implementing solutions, and driving adoption of new technologies. Expertise in designing and managing high-availability infrastructure with automatic failover and large-scale distributed systems. Proficient in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Familiarity with agile methodologies, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security best practices. Demonstrated experience supporting trading or financial applications and related infrastructure. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills Knowledge of financial services industry technology and systems. Experience with cloud-native development and deployment. Familiarity with Kafka or Kubernetes. Proficiency in SQL and understanding of database management concepts. Experience maintaining and enhancing legacy applications (e.g., MFC GUI). Web-based application development experience. Strong communication and collaboration skills.
