In this pivotal role, you will oversee the QA processes related to ambulance runs and ensuring adherence to strict regulatory standard practices. Your expertise will help maintain regulatory compliance. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive audits of ambulance runs, including documentation, patient care reports, and compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, and CMS guidelines. Review medical records for accuracy and completeness, ensuring proper adherence to medical law and insurance requirements. Collaborate with station managers and individual crew members to identify areas for process improvement and implement corrective actions to enhance service quality. Monitor compliance with in-house protocols and policies related to emergency medical services and electronic health records (EHR/EHR management). Assist in projects focused on risk management and quality assurance initiatives within ambulance operations. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of healthcare compliance standards such as Medicare regulations, Managed Care policies, and CMS regulatory requirements. Requirements Proven experience in healthcare quality assurance or compliance management within an emergency medical services environment. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems, CPT coding, and medical terminology. Familiarity with CMS guidelines and Medicare policies. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data analysis tools. Strong knowledge of healthcare law, risk management practices, and compliance standards related to ambulance services.
