Job Description

Position Overview Responsible for a variety of information technology solutions for the Montgomery County Clerk of Courts organization. Engages in the maintenance of existing software solutions and automated back-end business processes. Modifies and enhances existing software solutions and automated back-end business processes to improve their efficiency and effectiveness. Identifies business process requirements through collaboration with subject matter experts and develops software application solutions to optimize operational efficiency within the organization. Provides end-user support for both in-house and commercial off-the-shelf software solutions. This position reports to the Director of Information Services. Summary of Job Duties
  • Maintain in-house or commercial off-the-shelf software solutions to handle specific jobs; conduct testing of programs and software applications to guarantee they produce the desired information.
  • Develop comprehensive documentation of new or existing software solutions.
  • Work with Software Development Team to correct in-house software solution errors by making appropriate changes and rechecking the system to ensure that the desired results are produced.
  • Maintain web sites using authoring or scripting languages, content creation tools, management tools, and digital media.
  • Consult with users to define and resolve problems using software solutions.
  • Oversee the performance of in-house and commercial off-the-shelf software solutions; work with other Information Technology staff to coordinate and perform maintenance of software systems.
  • Assist with training users in the proper use of computer software solutions or hardware.
  • Develop custom reports using business intelligence applications and relational database queries.
  • Develop custom documents using image editing and digital publishing software along with other content creation tools.
  • Ensure compliance with laws, policies, and organizational values.
  • Communicate and collaborate with diverse individuals from technical and non-technical backgrounds.
  • Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and software.
  • Skilled in C# (.NET Framework) programming language and/or other web-based programming languages and technologies.
  • Ability to formulate and write meaningful software documentation.
  • Experience in managing, coordinating, and implementing projects.
  • Knowledge of databases, system security and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes of providing customer service.
  • Skilled in communicating effectively with Clerk of Courts staff, Judicial staff, County Data Processing and Third-Party Vendors.
  • Ability to make and implement decisions based on data analysis.
  • Ability to maintain effectiveness when shifting back and forth between two or more activities or sources of information.
  • Ability to develop creative solutions to problems.
