Your Opportunity + Impact The RCDD/Telecom Technical Specialist works closely with design technical team and is involved in all stages and disciplines of design projects. This position is responsible for the design of data/voice, electronic security, and audio-visual systems from conceptual design through construction documents. The Technical Specialist is considered a subject-matter expert, is responsible for accurate and technical correctness of the work assigned. This position is responsible for assisting the Project Team with developing scope and fees for small to moderate low voltage projects. Key Responsibilities Collaborates with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure alignment with project goals. Develops detailed designs from conceptual design through construction documents for structured cabling systems, including data, voice, audio/visual, and security systems. Possesses knowledge of codes and standards such as BISCI TDMM, TIA, UFC and current design practices applicable to design of projects. Performs initial QA/QC review of project submissions. Develops schedules, technical proposals, and labor hour estimates. Promotes, utilizes, and supports quality assurance and quality control processes to improve the quality of deliverables and reduce design errors & omissions. Performs and checks design calculations, technical specifications, and prepares cost estimates. Develops and maintains design budgets for complex scopes of work Travels to project sites and client meetings as needed to support field activities, project execution, and client relationships.
Education and Experience Education:
Associates or Bachelor's degree in a Technical discipline preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of four (4) years experience in the design of low voltage systems.
Licensure/Certification:
RCDD Licensure preferred. Will consider if applicant has the ability to achieve RCDD within one (1) year CTS-D and/or cybersecurity certification (CISSP/CISM, etc.) is desired but not required. Preferred Qualifications Must be proficient in Revit, AutoCAD and other related software programs. Must have a strong desire to expand knowledge base and undertake new responsibilities. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook), be a strong communicator, and have strong presentation skills. Must also be self-motivated and able to mentor.
