Job Summary A financial services technology organization is hiring a Web Developer III to serve as a senior-level Java developer supporting enterprise web applications. This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining complex systems within financial domains such as payroll, accounting, and accounts receivable. The position emphasizes modern Java web technologies, cloud and container platforms, and agile development practices in a contract-to-hire arrangement. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain enterprise web applications in a Java/J2EE environment Implement MVC-based applications using object-oriented analysis, design principles, and common design patterns Develop and integrate SOAP and RESTful services, APIs, API gateways, and microservices Build front-end and full-stack solutions using JavaScript frameworks such as React, Vue, and Node.js Work with enterprise databases to develop and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures Develop, deploy, and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes Implement and support CI/CD pipelines and container orchestration practices Integrate cloud-based services and vendor APIs within enterprise systems Test, debug, and diagnose application and system issues Develop and execute test cases and test plans Collaborate within Agile teams using Scrum or Kanban methodologies
Qualifications Required:
5-10 years of professional development experience Strong experience with Java/J2EE web application development Experience with
JPA, MVC
frameworks, Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, Struts, CSS, HTML, and
JSON/XML
Strong experience with RESTful and SOAP-based services, APIs, and microservices architectures Experience with JavaScript frameworks including React, Vue, and Node.js Experience with enterprise database management systems, preferably Oracle Intermediate to advanced SQL and stored procedure development experience Strong experience using Git and GitHub via command line Hands-on experience with containers, Kubernetes, and container orchestration Experience with CI/CD tools, processes, and concepts Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS or Azure Experience testing, debugging, and resolving software defects Agile development experience using
Scrum or Kanban Preferred:
Educational background in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field Business domain experience in financial systems such as payroll, accounting, or accounts receivable Understanding of container security, management, and implementation in cloud environments Additional Information This is a contract-to-hire role Position requires on-site work multiple days per week, increasing to full-time on-site Employment authorization sponsorship is not available
