A Bus Driver drives buses and transport passengers along a designated route. Works for a city public transit system, regional bus company, or school district.

PRIMARY FUNCTION
Responsible for driving Club vehicles to shuttle staff and transport members. When not actively driving routes or maintaining Club vehicles, this individual will be responsible for assisting with other tasks as assigned.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Drive a staff shuttle to/from Western Carolina University. (Afterschool) Transport Club members from school to the Boys & Girls Club of the Plateau for afterschool programs. Abide by all traffic laws. Abide by all BGCP policies and procedures, especially regarding transportation. Assist Club members getting on and off vehicles. Ensure the safety of all Club members. Keep all Club vehicles organized and clean. Complete a safety inspection of vehicles before and after each trip. Assist with or facilitate youth-centered programming (depending on interest). Transport staff, and Club members to off-site field trips and activities using a full-sized activity bus or smaller passenger vehicles as appropriate. (Summer camp) Assist with group management during off-site field trips with members, including outdoor activities. (Summer camp)
RELATIONSHIPS
Develop authentic and meaningful relationships with Club members, staff, and volunteers. Maintain confidentiality in regard to staff, volunteer, member, and family matters. Work with staff to ensure that program areas are safe, that equipment is maintained in good working condition and that repair needs are reported immediately.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
Actively participate in BGCA training, internal training, and other development opportunities. Assist with keeping all vehicles up to date regarding maintenance. Assist with facilities maintenance tasks as needed. Fill in as a program leader at Club as needed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work requires the physical strength and agility to safely perform all essential functions, especially the operation of both passenger and commercial motor vehicles. The position also requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull equipment without assistance, and sit or stand for long periods. Be able to pass a criminal and motor vehicle background check upon employment offer.
QUALIFICATIONS
Have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED. Have a valid driver's license. A CDL (Class B, Passenger and Air Brakes endorsements) license is preferred; or be willing and able to participate in training to secure said CDL license. Have a minimum of 1 year experience driving an activity bus or passenger van, preferred. Have a clean driving record in the last three years. Have the ability to work regular Club hours, evenings, and some events. Be dependable, driven, dedicated, and motivated. Be uplifting, flexible, and creative. Pay:
$17.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: No more than 29.0 per week
