In this energetic role, you will operate school buses and other authorized vehicles, transporting students safely to and from school and related activities. Your dedication will help foster a positive and secure environment for young learners while adhering to all transportation safety regulations. Responsibilities Safely operate school buses, motor coaches, or shuttle vehicles along designated routes on city streets and highways, ensuring passenger safety at all times Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after each shift to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and vehicle safety standards Assist passengers, including those with special needs, providing friendly support and ensuring their comfort during transit Follow traffic laws, traffic laws, and transportation safety regulations diligently, especially when driving in adverse weather conditions or during peak traffic hours Communicate effectively with dispatch using two-way radios to receive route updates or report incidents promptly Navigate efficiently through city streets, adhering to designated routes while maintaining punctuality and safety standards Perform routine maintenance checks on vehicles, including air brake systems and mechanical components, to ensure optimal operation Skills Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting Proven experience in school bus driving or similar commercial driving roles such as limousine or shuttle driving Strong understanding of traffic laws, DOT regulations, state transportation rules, and safety protocols for passenger transportation Excellent communication skills to interact with students, parents, school staff, and dispatch personnel effectively Ability to operate two-way radios for driver communication clearly and efficiently Skilled in vehicle inspections, passenger assistance, especially for passengers with special needs, and safe driving practices under various weather conditions Knowledge of city street navigation and delivery driver experience is a plus for route flexibility and efficiency Demonstrated defensive driving skills to prevent accidents and ensure passenger safety at all times Join us in delivering safe journeys that make a difference!
