This role requires an active Class B CDL with both the School Bus (S) and Passenger endorsements, along with strong communication and driving skills. Your core competencies in school bus driving will be essential. Experience with children and customer service will further support our mission to provide a safe and reliable transportation experience. In order for this role to be made full-time, when not needed as a school bus driver, the driver will be assisting our Warehouse as a Box Truck Driver with donation pick up, deliveries, or house cleanouts. School Bus Driver Essential Duties Transports children to and from school and other activities, assists in the implementation of daily activities of the center. picks up and drops off children at designated locations according to daily schedule Performs daily pre and post trip inspections of bus Reports maintenance needs to supervisor Assures that all children have exited the bus, check on and under seats for sleeping children Assures that bus is cleaned at the end of shift Adheres to all Pennsylvania driving laws and regulations Required P and S endorsement Assures that annual physical and all related procedures are completed to keep Commercial Drivers License (CDL) valid and up to date Advises supervisor immediately if CDL is not updated or is revoked at any time Assures that any address changes are reported to Penn Dot within 30 days Reports all traffic violations and/or accidents immediately to supervisor. Box Truck Essential Duties Pick up donations from donation bins and other drop off locations Pick up books from libraries and retail locations Pick up donations from client homes. Pick up and drop off sorted goods/donations from the Oppshop Assists in performing duties not necessarily assigned to your job description when necessary Adheres to policies and procedures of the job Assists in providing an environment free from safety hazards Qualifications Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus Endorsement Proven experience driving school buses and box trucks Strong customer service and communication skills Ability to interact positively with children and ensure their safety Knowledge of traffic laws and safe driving practices Experience in maintaining vehicle cleanliness and performing basic inspections Must be able to lift 50lbs or more Must have a positive attitude with clients Must operate a pallet jack Must be able to pack the items/handle with care Must be able to manage time Must have knowledge of google maps. Ability to accept supervision Ability to communicate verbally
