No problem! KTG Bus of Tennessee offers a paid CDL training program for qualified candidates who are ready to start a career in school transportation. Get paid throughout your CDL training: Step 1: CDL Permit & Endorsement Training KTG provides the required classroom training to help you obtain your CDL permit and endorsements. Class B CDL with P, S & Air Brake Endorsements 2 days of classroom training Classes are held from 9:00 AM-1:00 PM $100 paid when you obtain your permit P & S Endorsements 1 day of classroom training Class is held from 9:00 AM-1:00 PM $50 paid when you obtain your permit S Endorsement Only Approximately 2 hours of classroom training $25 paid when you obtain your permit Step 2: Behind-the-Wheel Training After obtaining your permit and completing the required classroom training, you will begin behind-the-wheel training with KTG. Step 3: Obtain Your CDL After successfully completing your behind-the-wheel training and obtaining your
CDL:
$500 completion payment Begin working as a qualified KTG school bus driver in an available position KTG covers the cost of your required CDL training and endorsements. No previous school bus driving experience is required. Training timelines can vary depending on the individual and the required licensing and endorsement steps. Most trainees complete the overall CDL training process in approximately 4-6 weeks . Responsibilities Safely transport students to and from school Greet students and ensure their safety at all times Communicate with dispatch and leadership regarding incidents, accidents, or mechanical concerns Maintain professional and courteous behavior on every route Follow all company, school, and transportation safety policies Qualifications Minimum age 25, unless eligible for a Tennessee statutory exception Valid U.S. driver's license in good standing At least 5 years of unrestricted driving experience Ability to obtain a Class B CDL with Passenger (P), School Bus (S), and Air Brake endorsements Pass required background checks Pass DOT physical and drug screening Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English Professional written and oral communication skills Ability to remain calm, professional, and attentive in a busy transportation environment No prior school bus driving experience required Why Drive with KTG Bus of Tennessee?
