Job Description

The East Troy Community School District has a need for confident, reliable, dedicated bus drivers to fill our routes. This is the perfect part-time work for retirees, parents (even those with preschoolers-bring them along!), or anyone looking to help the community and make a little money on the side. Maybe this is the opportunity for you or someone you know such as a neighbor or relative! We offer a competitive hiring bonus of $750-$1,000 for bus drivers. We even provide paid training for obtaining your CDL ($24.30/hr.) ! Additional opportunities are available for van routes, driving charters for field trips, and athletic activities. Good attendance incentives (up to $150/yr.) Annual $500 end of school year longevity bonus. Both AM and PM routes available. Pay is $36.45 per route. Come join our family of drivers!
REQUIREMENTS
At least 18 years of age Hold or obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger and school bus endorsements. Paid training will be provided by the district. Pass a Medical Exam every two years in accordance with
DOT 49CFR391
regulation. Adhere to Random Drug & Alcohol Testing Regulations

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The position's office is located in the Bus Driver Lounge. The job is performed primarily by sitting, but also involves walking or standing for brief periods of time on an occasional basis. This job involves constant fine manipulation and near acuity. Reaching and handling are utilized frequently. This job involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Be clean and neat in appearance Keep bus/vehicle clean and neat at all times Drive always at a safe speed Transport students safely on specified routes according to time schedule Complete and submit all required reports and documentation Communicate with drivers via two-way radio, ensuring all parties use proper radio discipline and procedures Perform Pre-trip and Post-trip Inspections Maintain order and discipline on the part of every passenger Study and observe all laws and regulations of the State of Wisconsin and East Troy Community School District Board policies relating to the transportation of students Attend and participate in all required trainings provided by the District Maintain accurate records and prepare reports to assist school officials in mapping bus routes, planning schedules, and obtaining information for a continuous study of all phases of transportation service Advise Transportation Director of student, parent, and/or staff safety concerns Report immediately to the Director of Transportation causes for failure to maintain the school bus time schedule Instruct transported students in safe riding practices Permit a student to leave the bus only at a regular stop except upon written request of parents and approval of the principal or at the direction of the principal or Director of Transportation Ascertain and ensure that all students are off the bus before filling the fuel tank Maintain safety check protocols Report immediately to the Director of Transportation any hazards which would offer either a present or potential threat to the safety of students in the care of the bus driver Report immediately to the Director of Transportation misconduct on the part of any pupil while on the bus or under the immediate supervision of the bus driver Serve as a resource for administrators, staff, parents and community members Create a friendly professional climate and develops positive working relationships with students, staff, parents and visitors Demonstrate dependability and ethical behavior Represent the District in a professional manner Exhibit respect and good judgment Produce high quality work while meeting deadlines Learn and implement new technologies Support and create a friendly professional climate Understand the relation between own work to building and District needs Creativity, adaptability, and compliance toward assisting the district meet the district goals Strong work ethic including the ability to prioritize, to problem-solve, to self-start, and to make tough recommendations and or decisions Demonstrate a willingness to grow professionally Perform other related duties as assigned Handle confidential information in a discreet, professional manner Communicate in writing as needed Maintain an organized and clean bus Frequently check district email and respond to appropriate emails in a timely manner Commitment to high professional standards - professionalism, as reflected by attire, communication, level of confidentiality, attitude, and work Flexibility to handle a variety of tasks at one time and meet deadlines
