JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Store Management staff, the Donor Greeter is responsible for greeting donors, accepting donations, distributing donation receipts, placing materials in the proper staging area, and loading and unloading trailers safely and efficiently.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Greets and assists donors in a friendly and courteous manner. Demonstrates superior customer service at all times. Responsible for accepting or rejecting donations according to Agency policy. Declines unacceptable donations in a friendly, positive manner. Records and maintains donor records accurately. Enters donor count electronically throughout the day. Handles all donated materials in a careful and safe manner to maximize value. Ensures all material containers are properly labeled and scanned into and out of the electronic warehouse management system in a timely and accurate manner. Keeps work area free of safety hazards. Works in a safe and organized manner. Places trash in appropriate containers. Regular attendance is required to perform the essential functions of the job.
SECONDARY DUTIES
May perform processing, janitorial and other duties assigned as directed by store management.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education Required :
Elementary education.
Experience Required :
Six (6) months customer service work experience and/or six (6) months material handling experience.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Knowledge Required:
Ability to work with diverse populations, ability to interact courteously with the public, and ability to work with minimum supervision. Knowledge of material handling is highly desirable.
Equipment Used:
PDA, electronic tablet, totes, tri-walls, hand trucks, appliance hand trucks, pallet jacks, power lifts, and other processing equipment.
SKILLS/APTITUDES/TEMPERAMENTS
Ability to display excellent customer service at all times. Integrity in handling all products. Ability to comprehend basic and detailed instructions. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to work with diverse population.
EMOTIONAL EFFORT
This position requires moderate to heavy emotional effort involved in interactions with supervisors and customers (external and internal).
JOB SETTING
Variable working conditions, exposure to extreme heat and cold temperatures ranging from 25-115 degrees. Flexible work schedule, including weekends, holidays and evenings. Work environment is fast paced with high activity demands.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Fast paced environment. Ambulate, reach and lift 35 lbs.; bend/lift from the waist; stand for long periods of time; good hand/eye coordination; and dexterity in upper extremities and upper torso.
