Yacht Detailer with Marine Technician Growth Path Onpoint Yacht Services LLC | Bainbridge Island Marina, Eagle Harbor, WA | 30 hours per week | Compensation discussed at interview Who We Are Onpoint Yacht Services is a yacht management and marine services company based in Eagle Harbor on Bainbridge Island. We provide full concierge yacht management, professional captaining, marine electrical work, and detailing for vessels 60 feet and larger throughout Puget Sound. This is not a hose and bucket operation. You will be led by two people with rare depth in this trade: our owner, a USCG Master 100GT captain with more than 52,000 sea miles of technical and offshore experience, and our operations manager, who spent his entire career as chief engineer aboard some of the most advanced superyachts in the world. Our electrical division installs and commissions serious systems: Victron lithium power, navigation suites, NMEA 2000 networks. The boats you will work on belong to clients who expect meticulous care, and we deliver it. The Role You will start on the detailing side of the business and, if you have the aptitude and the interest, grow into technical marine work. This is a real path, not a recruiting line. We would rather train a detail obsessed person into a technician than hire someone who cuts corners. Your core work from day one: Wash downs, drying, and window cleaning to a standard where clients notice. Waxing and polishing on Awlgrip and gelcoat surfaces where technique matters. Stainless steel polishing, fabric and vinyl treatments, and interior detailing to a concierge standard. Engine room detailing and paint touchups, which is where a lot of our technicians first got their hands near real systems. Water spot, scale, and rust stain removal using our documented protocols. Supporting vessel checks and dock operations at our home marina and client slips around Puget Sound. This is a job with real water time: you will move between client boats aboard our RIBs and Munson landing craft week to week, not stand in one yard all day.

Where the role can go:

Assisting on electrical installs and troubleshooting, including battery systems, inverters, and navigation electronics. Learning

NMEA 2000

networking, wiring standards, and system commissioning under a captain and a career superyacht chief engineer. Crewing for our clients and captains on deliveries, sea trials, and marine services charters. Supporting haul outs and vessel movements throughout the Sound. The ceiling here is set by your curiosity and reliability, not by a job title. Who Thrives Here You notice the streak everyone else missed. You show up when you say you will, every time. You are comfortable working on docks, around water, and in Pacific Northwest weather. You can lift 50 pounds, kneel, reach, and stay on your feet for a shift. You ask questions when you do not know something instead of guessing on a client's boat.

Helpful but not required:

boating or maritime background, detailing or auto detailing experience, basic electrical or mechanical aptitude, boater education card, comfort operating small vessels.

Required:

reliable transportation to Bainbridge Island, legal authorization to work in the US, and the ability to pass a background check for work on client vessels.
