Role:
The Delivery Driver plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and timely transportation of goods within assigned routes. This position demands a strong commitment to safety protocols and excellent customer service to create a positive experience for all customers. The driver is responsible for maintaining punctuality and adhering to schedules, which requires effective organization and time management skills. Additionally, the Delivery Driver must be vigilant in vehicle maintenance checks and report any issues promptly to ensure operational reliability. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to the overall efficiency and reputation of Overnight Parts Inc.
Minimum Qualifications:
Valid driver's license appropriate for the vehicle class being operated. Clean driving record with minimal recent violations or accidents. Ability to pass background checks and drug screening as required. Basic literacy and numeracy skills to manage schedules and documentation. Physical ability to perform vehicle inspections and handle cargo as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience as a professional driver or in a customer-facing transportation role. Certification in defensive driving or related safety training. Familiarity with GPS and route planning technology. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with diverse customers. Knowledge of local geography and traffic patterns to optimize route efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Operate vehicles safely and in compliance with all traffic laws and company policies. Provide courteous and professional customer service to all customers. Manage daily schedules to ensure timely delivery of goods. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify and report any mechanical issues. Maintain accurate records of routes, mileage, and any incidents or delays encountered during shifts.
Skills:
The Delivery Driver utilizes safe driving behavior daily to ensure compliance with legal standards. Providing great customer service is essential, as the driver often serves as the primary point of contact, requiring patience, clear communication, and professionalism. Organization and time management skills are critical for adhering to tight schedules and managing multiple stops efficiently. Pay:
$17.00 - $18.00 per hour
