Position:
NSM is currently seeking a part-time driver that is responsible for safely transporting adult participants in their personal vehicle to and from their program. The driver is expected to provide reliable, professional, and respectful transportation while maintaining a safe and supportive environment for all passengers. The Driver works closely with school staff and follows all NSM policies, transportation procedures, applicable state and federal regulations, and individual student safety requirements.
Qualifications:
Valid driver's license, safe and reliable vehicle, and acceptable driving record. The ability to successfully complete any required background check and driving record check. Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in a variety of situations. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries. Previous experience transporting students, working in a school setting, or working with individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required. Other requirements for this position include: Proof of current automobile insurance. Proof of current inspection of motor vehicles. The position may involve transportation in varying weather and traffic conditions.
Compensation & Benefits:
Hourly rate of $21.00 per hour, for up to 20 hours per week, 222 days per year. The position involves morning and afternoon participant transportation, with hours scheduled around student arrival and dismissal times. Mileage reimbursement at the federal rate every two weeks. This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Employees are eligible to participate in the New School of Montpelier 401(k) Plan in accordance with the terms of the Plan.
