Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Captain and Crew for a 100-ton Inland and Coastal Water (ICW) cruise vessel. This dynamic leadership role involves overseeing vessel operations, ensuring maritime safety, managing crew members, and maintaining the vessel's optimal performance. The ideal candidate will possess extensive maritime experience, strong management skills, and a passion for water transportation. As a key member of our team, you will lead with energy, precision, and a commitment to excellence in every voyage. This is a part time position for river cruise / tour. As popularity grows, so will hours. Estimating 20+ hours per week. Please read through qualifications to fully understand positions. Assistance with marketing and boat maintenance will earn you more hours! Duties Command and navigate the vessel safely across inland and coastal waterways using advanced marine navigation systems and maritime piloting techniques Manage daily vessel operations, including vessel management, maintenance, and ensuring compliance with US Coast Guard (USCG) regulations and maritime safety procedures Lead, supervise, and coordinate crew members to ensure effective communication, teamwork, and adherence to safety standards Conduct rigging operations and manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting equipment to support vessel stability and cargo management Perform routine water transportation equipment maintenance to guarantee operational readiness and safety Oversee crew training on maritime safety procedures, boat handling, mechanical knowledge, and emergency response protocols Ensure strict compliance with water transportation industry standards, USCG regulations, and maritime crew communication protocols during all operations Qualifications Proven experience in maritime navigation, vessel management, and crew supervision within the water transportation industry. Minimum 100T USCG Master for near coastal. Strong knowledge of US Coast Guard regulations related to vessel operation and safety standards Demonstrated ability in boat handling, heavy lifting, rigging, and mechanical maintenance of marine equipment Background in military service or similar disciplined environment preferred for leadership qualities Familiarity with marine navigation systems, maritime piloting techniques, and water transportation equipment maintenance Excellent management skills with experience managing teams as a ship supervisor or captain in similar settings Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely while adhering to maritime safety procedures Mechanical knowledge related to vessel systems and water transportation equipment repair Crew / Deck position will be responsible for safety of passengers, anchor handling, dock line handling, cleanliness of vessel. All crew must pass
DOT/USCG
drug screening and be a member of APCA Consortium. Captain and Crew split 100% of cash tips. Expect ~ 20hrs per week. This is a part time position. We use FareHarbor for scheduling. We will have 3-4 scheduled trips per week lasting ~2hrs per trip plus 2hrs per trip for readiness and cleanup. Private and scheduled outings are flexible. The crew does not require experience. The Captain position requires experience operating 50'+ commercial boats. This is a twin 800HP CAT diesel 65' vessel with 61pax COI. Evening trips, nights of lights cruises, and scheduled private parties, ashes scattering are some of the projected trips. AI generated resumes will not be accepted.
