Posted 06/2026 Job Description Job Summary S-61 Contract Captain - Part 133 External Load Operations Midwest Helicopter Airways is seeking a qualified S-61 Contract Captain for part-time, on-demand work in support of our external load operations. Applicants must hold an SK-61 type rating and have experience conducting 14 CFR Part 133 external load operations. This position is currently structured as a contract/as-needed role, with opportunities based on project demand and aircraft scheduling. Midwest Helicopter Airways specializes in precision helicopter external load operations throughout the United States. Our work includes HVAC placement, construction support, utility work, specialty lifts, and other complex aerial crane projects requiring experienced crews, detailed planning, and safe execution. Requirements Minimum qualifications: FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate or ATP Rotorcraft-Helicopter rating SK-61 type rating Part 133 external load experience Current FAA medical Strong crew coordination and decision-making skills Ability to operate professionally in construction and utility environments Prior S-61 utility, construction, or precision lift experience is preferred.
