Position Summary The Dredge Operator is responsible for safely operating a 16" electric dredge. This dredge is used for retrieval of raw material for production of sand and gravel aggregates. This position also includes the operation of small watercraft, performance of preventative and restorative maintenance on the dredge and the plumbing systems that deliver material to processing plants. Other duties may be assigned to include maintenance in operating plants and operation of other equipment as necessary. Position Requirements

• Operate equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with training and manufacturer's instruction
• Perform dredge and watercraft operation/maintenance both preventative and restorative
• Perform pre-shift safety inspection on equipment
• Report needed repairs to supervision
• Responsible for good housekeeping of equipment
• Adhere to MSHA and dredge/plant safety rules and regulations
• Must be able to work alone for extended hours while on dredge
• High School diploma and/or GED equivalent Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Must be able to read and follow equipment operating manual and other task guidelines
• Must be able to complete pre-shift inspection report
• Must be able to communicate on radio
• Possess basic mathematical aptitude to complete daily reports
• Must be able to wear all required safety equipment, to include personal flotation device
• Must be able to perform duties in a safe manner
• Must be able to read and interpret gauges
• Proven ability to work in a TEAM environment
• Previous mining dredge and/or mining equipment operation and experience highly desired Physical Requirements
• Must have good hand/eye coordination and be able to operate hand/foot controls
• Possess good vision to perceive depth at close range and distances up to 150 feet
• Must be able to climb on and off equipment to operate and service
• Must be able to bend, stoop, climb and reach around mobile equipment
• Capable of lifting up to 75 lbs
• Must be able to sit and operate equipment for long periods up to 10+ hours per day Working Conditions
