QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required Must be 21 years or older with a valid Arizona Driver's License and have a clean driving record Ability to maintain Salvation Army Driver's Test Certification Must be a service minded team player with the ability to work independently and show initiative Required to successful pass a criminal background check Must have or obtain a Food Handlers certificate within 30 days of employment. Must be able to lift 50lbs Must pass The Salvation Army's online fleet driving test Understand and carry out instructions related to the use of equipment and use it in a safe manner Ability to work within established policy guidelines and accept directions and follow instruction Ability to drive a box truck
RESPONSIBILITIES
Pick up food from various locations as scheduled Submit receipts, reports, and Vehicle Inspection Logs on a regular basis Unload, weigh, and separate donated food and take temperatures Clean truck weekly Clean equipment regularly Help keep records of all incoming food by dating the outside of the cases (or units) with the proper received date rotating stock on a regular basis as needed Help put food away as needed Report equipment issues in a timely manner Work with volunteers assigned to helping on the truck and/or the food pantry Other driving duties during the Holiday Season as assigned Other duties as assigned to assist in the function of the organization
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation. Employment is contingent upon passing the physical examination as mentioned above. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach with hands and arms on a continuous basis. The employee must regularly lift and/or move 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to operate telephone, a desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer and to understand written information.
