JOB TITLE
Semi Driver -End Dump
LOCATION
Santa Barbara
FLSA EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION
Non-Exempt Hourly Pay Rate:

POSITION
Summary:
The Semi Driver-End Dump is responsible to operate a Semi with an End Dump trailer to transport concrete and dirt to various locations. We are looking for drivers with a high degree of professionalism, a positive attitude, and a willingness to do a safe, quality, and efficient job.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include but are not limited to the following : Conduct daily pre-trip & post-trip inspections. Complete and submit vehicle condition reports at the end of the shift. Operates Semi with an end dump trailer to transport concrete and dirt to various locations in a safe & efficient manner. Maneuver truck into and out of minimum clearance spaces, using mirrors to back distances up to approximately 120 feet. Uses extreme caution when turning corners while operation the Semi with an End Dump Trailer. Operates hoist and lift equipment on vehicle. Utilize tarp to cover loads. Tarps all loads, climb inside trailer secure load. Secures and verifies correct connections to king pin and fifth wheel assembly, air, and hydraulic lines before each route start and before each trailer swap. Courteously interact with customers to answer questions or respond to requests and notify supervisor of any issues requiring management action. Maintains communication with Recycling Yard Facility Supervisor to work efficiently. Must use tablet to service the work orders that have been assigned by the dispatcher. Reports incidents immediately to Department Supervisor. Scan customer site before and after dumping. Must be flexible to work early hours. Attend weekly mandatory safety meetings. Maintains a clean truck. Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE
Must have a valid commercial Class A driver's license. 3-5 years of experience driving an End Dump Truck Wheel loader experience loading material if such need arises. Ability to safely operate equipment in a safe manner. Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and clients. Acceptable driver record required. Must be self-motivated, safety conscious and have a positive can-do attitude. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
EDUCATION
Equivalent of high school diploma or G.E.D and three to five years commercial truck driving experience, CORE

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Commercial license Class A with air brake, manuel transmission endorsement. Current medical certificate.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Required to put on protective outfits, like gloves, safety glasses. Safety footwear, and hardhat.
