Job Description

Walters Buildings is looking for a Truck Driver to join our team in Fairfield, IL . We are currently looking for a reliable, experienced driver to operate a company truck. Benefits of working for

Receive your schedule weeks in advance. 2-3 overnights each week. Competitive salary. Position Summary Under the general direction of Director of Manufacturing Operations, the Truck Drivers transport building materials between manufacturing plants (Fairfield, IL and Allenton, WI) and/or to worksites throughout the Midwest. Ensure building materials are delivered on-time and according to Walters Buildings safety and quality standards.
Duties/Responsibilities:
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all‑inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of equipment. Secure each load for safe transport. Monitor truck performance for preventive maintenance needs. Provide verbal direction to the unloader to ensure materials are not damaged during the unload process. Take pictures of product unload. Maintain positive and professional customer relations with internal and external customers. Responsible for communicating trucking issues, concerns and delays to appropriate team members. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Understanding of DOT rules and regulations. Good written and verbal communication skills Ability to work well on a team.
Working Environment and Physical Demands:
Perform work in extreme weather conditions (including high and low temperatures). Overnight stays (2-3 per week) required.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record. Roller trailer experience preferred.

$70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
