Job Description

The UN Seasonal Leaf Sweep Driver is responsible for servicing assigned route(s) for sweeping and clearing the pathways. The driver represents the company in a safe and respectable manner while servicing customer accounts dispatched to him/her throughout the day and communicating regularly with dispatchers and supervisors. The season is April to mid-December. A seasonal driver does not work January through March. Hours for the season are as follows: April - September, Monday - Friday with some Saturday's; October through December, Monday-Saturday, as needed. Please understand hours or Saturdays may fluctuate depending on the volume of work. Reports To Operations Supervisor Operate truck in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies. Sweep streets, parking lots, alleys to the expectations that meet or exceed the company's standards for service. Complete assigned routes. Communicate with dispatch as route changes or issues arise Maintain and update route sheets. Conduct pre-trip/post trip vehicle inspections Maintain and update drivers log sheets. Professional interaction with internal and external customers. Keeping truck clean and operating properly within driver's ability. Ability to use a smart phone and apps. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Ability to read and understand a map. Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertions, including Ability to work overtime, weekends and/or holidays. Good written and verbal communication skills to be able to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers. Previous CDL truck driving experience preferred. Waste industry experience, a plus. Additional skills may be required to perform additional task(s) specific to work location, department or line of business. Legally eligible to work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have at least a valid Class B CDL. Must have a valid DOT medical card or obtain prior to hire. Must not have any DUI's or OVI's within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 years. Must not have any license suspensions within the last 2 years. No more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years. Must successfully complete pre-employment testing. Must be able to read and speak the English language well enough to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, directions, traffic signs, signals, and safety training. No experience needed we will train Physical Demands / Environmental Factors While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear Occasionally required to stand and walk Repetitive lifting, pushing, pulling and climbing up to 40lbs Ability to work in all weather conditions.
