CDL A Over-the-Road Driver Job Description This role is for an experienced CDL A over-the-road driver who safely transports goods and materials over short and long distances, including interstate routes. You operate modern sleeper-cab trucks equipped with essential amenities and ensure that all cargo is handled, secured, and documented in full compliance with safety and regulatory standards. You maintain accurate logs, communicate effectively with internal teams and customers, and consistently deliver high-quality work within established deadlines. You will work 4 nights a week, and have every weekend off. Responsibilities Safely operate CDL A trucks to transport goods and materials over short and long distances, including across state lines. Drive over-the-road routes with approximately four nights out each week and return home every weekend. Load and unload cargo as needed, verify orders, and ensure that all freight is properly secured in compliance with safety regulations. Conduct thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicles and associated equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. Keep trucks, sleeper cabs, and related equipment clean, organized, and in good working order. Accurately manage and maintain logbooks, inspection records, and documentation related to hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel expenditures. Promptly report cargo information, mileage, and fuel usage as required by company policies and regulatory standards. Communicate clearly and professionally with warehouse supervisors, logistics team members, other drivers, and customers using wireless devices and in-person interactions. Perform quality work within deadlines while meeting delivery schedules and service expectations. Work effectively as a team member while also operating independently on the road, coordinating efforts with others as needed to ensure smooth operations. Essential Skills Valid CDL A license. Minimum of 2 years of professional commercial driving experience. Proven ability to safely operate Class A CDL vehicles over short and long distances, including interstate travel. Strong knowledge of cargo securement and transportation safety standards. Ability to perform thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections. Experience maintaining accurate logbooks and inspection paperwork, including hours of service, mileage, and fuel records. Effective communication skills for interacting with warehouse personnel, logistics teams, other drivers, and customers. Ability to work independently on the road while coordinating with team members to meet deadlines and delivery requirements. Commitment to cleanliness, vehicle care, and professional presentation. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience driving over-the-road routes with multiple nights out per week. Comfort using wireless communication devices for coordination and updates. Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and meet delivery schedules. Strong attention to detail in documentation, reporting, and cargo verification. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Marne, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $85000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

Per Diem:

$50 per night, additional 10k a year- around 85k with per diem 4k sign on bonus (how do they receive this bonus) , first year you could be making closer to 90k.
