Job Description
We are seeking to add a CDL Class B Truck Driver with a safety first mindset to our Aerospace, Defense & Prototype Team. This role is responsible for transporting and delivering materials in a safe, efficient manner while adhering to all relevant traffic laws and regulations.
This is a first shift/ days position based out of our Sterling Heights location.
Primary Responsibilities:
Safely operate company trucks to deliver and pick up parts, materials, and equipment throughout Michigan (within a 500-mile radius).
Follow all traffic laws and regulations.
Perform daily vehicle inspections, maintain accurate logbooks, and comply with all DOT regulations
Performing regular vehicle maintenance to ensure operational functionality.
Recording deliveries and ensuring all documentation is in order.
Reporting incidents and delays to Plant Manager.
Load and unload materials safely, including items weighing up to 70 pounds
Secure materials in a safe manner that prevents damage
Ensure deliveries and pickups are completed on time with excellent customer service
Communicating effectively & professionally with customers and internal employees.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of vehicles and assigned work areas.
Successfully maneuvering trucks into loading/unloading positions.
Support material handlers and assist with materials warehouse tasks when needed
Follow all company safety policies and procedures
Position Requirements:
Valid Class B CDL including airbrake endorsement.
Valid DOT Medical Card
Clean driving record (no tickets/ fines/ infractions/ citations/ violations)
High school diploma or equivalent
Proven experience as CDL driver, minimum of 2 years of experience in driving role
Manufacturing/ Warehouse experience preferred
Knowledge of & adherence to applicable truck driving regulations
Adaptability and foresight to handle traffic and weather conditions
Ability to lift and move materials up to 70 pounds, with or without assistance
Reliable, self-motivated, and safety-conscious
