Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Driver Recruiter to join our team! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for developing and executing recruitment strategies to attract, qualify, and hire professional drivers and owner-operators to support the organization's transportation operations. This role focuses on recruiting Class A CDL drivers, non-CDL route drivers, and long-haul owner-operators while ensuring a positive candidate experience and maintaining compliance with all applicable employment and transportation regulations. The Driver Recruiter serves as a key partner to transportation operations by building a strong pipeline of qualified candidates, reducing time-to-fill, and supporting the company's growth and service objectives. Responsibilities Recruitment & Sourcing Develop and implement recruiting strategies to attract, CDL drivers, and non-CDL route drivers and owner-operators Source candidates through online job boards, social media platforms, employee referrals, networking, recruiting events, trucking associations, driving schools, and industry contacts. Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates for current and future hiring needs. Conduct proactive outreach to prospective drivers and owner-operators. Attend job fairs, hiring events, and industry networking opportunities to promote employment opportunities. Candidate Screening & Selection Screen applications and conduct phone, virtual, and in-person interviews. Assess candidate qualifications, driving experience, safety records, and cultural fit. Verify required credentials, including commercial driver's licenses, endorsements, medical certifications, and driving records. Coordinate pre-employment processes, including background screenings, drug testing, and reference checks. Present qualified candidates to hiring managers and transportation leadership. Owner-Operator Recruitment Identify and recruit owner-operators for long-haul transportation opportunities. Communicate compensation structures, settlement programs, fuel programs, equipment requirements, and operating expectations. Develop and maintain relationships with owner-operators to support retention and future growth. Hiring & Onboarding Coordinate employment offers and onboarding schedules. Ensure new hires complete all required onboarding documentation. Collaborate with Operations, Safety, and Human Resources teams to facilitate a smooth transition into employment. Support orientation and onboarding programs for new drivers and owner-operators. Reporting & Compliance Maintain accurate recruiting records within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS). Ensure recruiting activities comply with federal, state, and local employment laws. Support DOT-related hiring requirements and documentation. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Minimum of 2 years of recruiting experience required. Transportation, logistics, trucking, or driver recruiting experience strongly preferred. Experience recruiting CDL drivers and owner-operators preferred. Other Qualifications Knowledge of transportation and driver qualification requirements. Understanding of CDL classifications, endorsements, DOT regulations, and driver hiring practices. Strong sourcing and relationship-building skills. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Ability to work independently and manage multiple open positions simultaneously. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and recruiting platforms.
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
