Position Summary:
The Commercial Front-End Driver is responsible for safely operating a front-end truck to provide prompt and courteous waste collection services to commercial customers. This role requires strong customer service skills, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate a Commercial Front-End Truck on assigned routes to service commercial waste containers. Ensure proper waste collection and disposal while following company safety standards and traffic laws. Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in proper working condition and report any maintenance issues. Monitor container conditions and report any damage or unsafe conditions. Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and customers. Maintain accurate service and delivery records using onboard systems or manual documentation. Assist with container deliveries, removals, and replacements as needed. Keep the vehicle and work area clean at all times. Follow all local, state, and federal transportation regulations.
Requirements:
Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) - Class B or higher. Front End experience is
REQUIRED.
Clean driving record and ability to pass a DOT drug test and physical exam. Clear clearing house record. Strong knowledge of safe driving practices, DOT regulations, and equipment inspection procedures. Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently. Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varying weather conditions. Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in waste management, recycling, or a related field. Familiarity with route navigation systems and GPS technology. Mechanical aptitude to identify minor truck issues.
Working Conditions:
Exposure to outdoor elements (heat, cold, rain, snow). Possible early hours, overtime, or occasional weekend work. Fast-paced and physically demanding work environment.
