Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers and other heavy-duty trucks to transport freight efficiently across designated routes. Your expertise in various types of cargo, including refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, and roll-off loads, will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Responsibilities Operate tractor-trailers with a CDL A license, including manual transmission vehicles, across local, regional, or long-haul routes. Safely load and unload freight using equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks, ensuring secure handling of diverse cargo types like refrigerated goods, flatbed materials, or tanker liquids. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, and route information in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) standards. Plan efficient routes to optimize delivery times while adhering to safety protocols and traffic laws. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues encountered during transit. Assist with special loads such as dump trucks or freight requiring specific handling procedures when necessary. Qualifications Valid CDL A license with proven experience in commercial driving and route delivery. Hands-on experience operating various truck types including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks. Familiarity with load & unload procedures using forklifts or other loading equipment. Knowledge of safety regulations related to trucking operations and cargo securement standards. Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles confidently over extended distances. Strong organizational skills for managing delivery schedules and documentation accurately.
