Agricultural Transport Regional Driver Position Description:

The primary function of the Reginal Driver is to operate various tractor-trailer combinations for extended periods of time, over long distances between company/customer facilities, terminals, yards or work sites in order to pick up, transport and deliver freight in a safe, timely and efficient manner. As part of this function, Reginal drivers drop, hook, spot or otherwise interchange equipment for loading or unloading at various locations under varied conditions. Reginal Drivers are subject to the Hours of Service Regulations of the United States Department of Transportation.

Position Duties:

Checks vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order Maneuvers trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew, and checks that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned Collects delivery instructions from appropriate sources, verifying instructions and routes. Maintains logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations Reports vehicle defect, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles Secures cargo for transport Drives trucks to weigh stations after loading to comply with state regulations Obtains receipts or signatures for delivered goods Performs inventory when able to inspect goods to be moved to determine quantities and conditions Operates equipment, such as cellphone, CB radios, and computers to exchange necessary information with supervisors or other drivers. Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, or radiator fluid or performing minor repairs. Check conditions of trailers after content have been unloaded to ensure that there has been nothing left, and no damage done. Reads bills of lading to determine assignment details Couples or uncouples trailers by changing trailer position, connecting or disconnecting air or electrical lines, or manipulation fifth wheel locks Follow Traffic Laws Drive for extended periods of time, over long distances, between company and customer facilities, terminals, yards, and or worksites Perform other related duties as assigned.

Hours:

Out 5-6 Days with 34 -48 Hours off

Required Skills & Work Experience:

Must have strong customer service skills Must have excellent written / verbal communication skills Must be a proven self-starter with confidence and high energy level Must be able to work independently and with a team, with little direction to solve problems while remaining professional and positive at all times. A valid CDL-A License A current DOT Physical At least 2 Years of OTR experience
