Job Description

The Class B Shuttle Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently transporting food products, supplies, and equipment between company locations, warehouses, customers, and designated delivery points. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, food quality, customer service, and timely transportation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Safely operate a Class B commercial vehicle to transport food products and supplies. Shuttle products between warehouses, distribution centers, customer locations, and other designated locations. Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report vehicle maintenance or safety concerns. Load, secure, transport, and unload products while preventing damage or product loss. Verify product quantities and delivery paperwork before leaving and upon arrival. Follow established delivery schedules and routes to ensure timely transportation. Maintain proper handling and storage practices for food products. Follow all DOT regulations, company safety policies, and applicable traffic laws. Maintain required driver logs, inspection reports, delivery records, and other documentation. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the vehicle in accordance with company food-safety requirements. Communicate professionally with warehouse personnel, customers, and company employees. Report damaged products, delivery issues, accidents, or other concerns to the appropriate supervisor. Assist with loading and unloading products as needed. Operate pallet jacks, carts, or other material-handling equipment as required. Maintain a clean and organized truck and equipment. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Valid Class B CDL required. Valid DOT medical card, as required. Clean and acceptable driving record. Previous commercial driving, food distribution, delivery, or warehouse experience preferred. Ability to safely operate a commercial vehicle and perform required inspections. Ability to safely load, unload, and secure food products. Good communication and customer-service skills. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Ability to work independently and follow established routes and procedures. Physical Requirements Ability to sit and drive for extended periods. Ability to repeatedly enter and exit the truck. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull food products and equipment as required. Ability to operate a pallet jack and other material-handling equipment. Ability to work in varying temperatures, including refrigerated or freezer environments when applicable. Ability to perform loading and unloading activities safely. Work Environment Work is performed both on the road and at warehouses, distribution centers, and customer locations. May require working outdoors in varying weather conditions. May require exposure to refrigerated or freezer areas. Position requires compliance with company food-safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures. Schedule Schedule may include early morning starts, weekends, holidays, or overtime based on business needs. Must be dependable and able to report to work as scheduled.
