Bell & Evans is looking for a dependable Transfer Jockey to join our Transportation team. In this role, you will operate tractor-trailer combinations to move loaded and empty trailers between loading docks, the yard, and company plants and facilities. This is a great opportunity for a CDL A driver who enjoys a hands-on role, working independently, and keeping trailer movements organized and on schedule. 2nd Shift; Sunday- Thursday; 7pm - 3:30am Bell & Evans is looking for a dependable Transfer Jockey to join our Transportation team. In this role, you will operate tractor-trailer combinations to move loaded and empty trailers between loading docks, the yard, and company plants and facilities. This is a great opportunity for a CDL A driver who enjoys a hands-on role, working independently, and keeping trailer movements organized and on schedule. What You'll Do Move loaded and empty trailers between docks, yards, plants, shops, and other company locations. Back and pull trailers away from loading docks and stage them in designated yard locations. Move trailers throughout the yard based on instructions from Shipping, Supervisors, and Warehouse Leads. Maintain radio communication with Shipping and Transportation to receive trailer-movement instructions. Open and close trailer doors and properly secure trailers with locks or seals. Monitor refrigerated trailers and ensure proper temperature operation. Adjust refrigeration temperature set points and report equipment shutdown codes to the appropriate supervisor. Check reefer fuel levels and maintain a minimum of ½ tank of fuel . Perform routine safety checks of yard equipment and trailers, including checking for visible damage and ensuring inspections are current. Inspect and maintain fuel levels on company and rental trailers. Complete required logs, records, and forms accurately. Organize trailers in the yard when trailer moves are not being assigned. Maintain a clean and professional appearance inside and outside of company vehicles. Report all accidents immediately to the Safety Manager and Transportation Manager on duty and provide photos when required. Communicate effectively and promptly with the Transportation team. Follow all company safety, food safety, and operating procedures.
