Position SummaryDunavant is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Driver Pay Specialist I to join our accounting team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely compensation for our professional drivers. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing weekly driver settlements, maintaining payroll accuracy, supporting per diem administration, and assisting with driver-related accounting functions.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to delivering excellent customer service while maintaining strict confidentiality. Previous payroll, bookkeeping, or transportation industry experience is highly valued.

Key ResponsibilitiesDriver Payroll & SettlementsProcess, audit, and approve weekly driver settlements.

Verify trip mileage, delivery stops, and other driver pay components for accuracy.

Respond to driver and terminal inquiries regarding pay and settlement details.

Process escrow disbursements and maintain related records.

Complete balance sheet reconciliations related to driver pay activities.

Provide backup support for additional driver pay functions as needed. Per Diem AdministrationResearch and process driver per diem transactions.

Work with vendor statements and customer billing activities.

Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.

Respond to inquiries from customers, terminals, and internal departments. General Accounting SupportMaintain confidentiality of payroll and employee information.

Collaborate with operations, terminals, and other departments to resolve payroll-related issues.

Support continuous process improvements and operational efficiencies.

Provide backup assistance for EFS money code issuance when necessary.

Perform other duties as assigned.

QualificationsRequiredHigh School Diploma or GED.Minimum of 1 year of payroll, bookkeeping, accounting, or related experience.

Experience with driver payroll or payroll processing.

Strong Microsoft Excel skills.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

PreferredExperience in the trucking, transportation, logistics, or supply chain industry.

Knowledge of driver settlements, per diem administration, and transportation payroll processes.
