The Driver/Engineer performs emergency response duties in support of fire suppression, rescue, emergency medical services, hazardous materials response, and fire prevention activities. This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of fire department apparatus and equipment while maintaining a high level of operational readiness. Primary responsibilities include driving and operating fire apparatus during emergency and non-emergency responses; operating pumps, tools, and specialized rescue equipment; performing daily apparatus and equipment inspections; and participating in fire suppression, rescue, EMS, training, and prevention activities. The Driver/Engineer assists with the training of department personnel, maintains knowledge of the response district, and ensures assigned apparatus and equipment remain clean, maintained, and ready for service. The Driver/Engineer performs all duties of a Firefighter and may assume the responsibilities of a Captain when assigned. 48/96 Schedule Compensation and Benefits $83,957.18 base annual salary (includes base pay and paid holidays) FLSA overtime is paid in addition to the listed annual salary
