Job Overview We are seeking a professional and dependable Driver to join our logistics team. Duties Operate refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or tractor-trailers to transport freight across local, regional, or over-the-road (OTR) routes. Ensure compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) standards, and hazardous materials regulations when handling dangerous goods. Use GPS navigation systems to plan and follow optimal routes for timely deliveries. Load and unload cargo safely using manual handling techniques and proper equipment; secure freight to prevent damage during transit. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle inspections, and cargo documentation in accordance with DOT regulations. Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to identify maintenance needs or safety issues. Manage the transportation of specialized loads such as refrigerated goods, hazardous materials, or oversized freight with precision. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and potential delays. Follow all safety protocols related to truck loading/unloading, manual handling, and hazardous materials. Keep detailed records of deliveries, pickups, route progress, and any incidents encountered during trips. Experience Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on freight transportation; prior experience with refrigerated trailers or specialized cargo is preferred. Familiarity with over-the-road (OTR) driving routes and route planning using GPS navigation tools. Knowledge of truck loading and unloading procedures, including manual handling techniques. Understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT compliance standards, and hazardous materials handling requirements. Experience operating different types of trucks such as tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or refrigerated units. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the cargo transported; Hazmat certification is a plus. Ability to adhere strictly to safety guidelines while managing logistics cargo handling efficiently. Strong communication skills for effective coordination with dispatch teams and clients.
