Job Description
Automotive Mechanic — Hybrid/Transmission/ Engine Experience → Train Into EV Repair Dynamis Auto San Jose, CA Job Details Full-time $25 - $40 an hour 8 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Professional development assistance Retirement plan Qualifications Mechanic experience Hand tools Electric vehicle maintenance Mechanical systems repair Full Job Description About Us Dynamis Auto is a San Jose shop specializing in Tesla and EV repair — battery diagnostics and repair, drive unit work, suspension, brakes, and full diagnostics. We're growing, and we're looking for a mechanic who's great with their hands and ready to add EV systems to their toolkit. The Role We're not looking for someone who already knows Tesla inside and out — we're looking for someone with solid, real experience on hybrids, transmissions, or engines who's genuinely interested in learning high-voltage EV repair. You'll work alongside our lead technician, start contributing on familiar mechanical work right away, and gradually take on more EV-specific diagnostics and repair as you learn. What you'll do: Perform diagnostics, repair, and maintenance work using your existing mechanical background Learn EV-specific systems on the job: battery diagnostics, drive units, high-voltage safety procedures. Work directly with our lead technician on real customer vehicles — this is hands-on learning, not classroom training. Help keep jobs moving efficiently as our shop grows. What We're Looking For Real, hands-on experience with hybrids, transmission work, or engine repair/rebuild (shop experience preferred). Comfortable with diagnostic tools and reading a vehicle's actual symptoms, not just following a checklist. Genuinely interested in transitioning into EV repair — not just tolerating it to get the job. Careful, safety-first mindset — this matters even more once high-voltage systems are involved. Reliable, shows up, communicates when something's off. Own basic hand tools. Nice to have (not required): Any prior exposure to hybrid or EV high-voltage systems ASE certifications Experience with shop management software. What We Offer A real path into EV specialization — one of the fastest-growing, highest-demand areas in the trade Hands-on training from our lead technician, not generic courses Pay based on your current experience level, with growth as your EV skills develop A small, hands-on shop where your work is visible and valued
