Job Description
Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Carman Welder Mechanic to join our team in Youngwood, PA. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining and repairing our railcar fleet, ensuring safety and efficiency in our operations. Responsibilities Perform welding and fabrication tasks on railcars, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in railcar systems, including brakes, couplers, and wheels. Conduct routine inspections and maintenance to ensure optimal performance of railcars. Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems. Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance activities. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while working in the facility. Assist in training and mentoring junior mechanics as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in welding or mechanics preferred. Proven experience as a welder and mechanic, preferably in a rail or industrial setting. Strong knowledge of welding techniques and mechanical systems. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
