About the DOT Inspection Technician Role As a DOT Inspection Technician , you'll be the trusted technician our customers rely on to keep their fleets on the road. This field-based role is perfect for entry-level technicians or recent tech school grads who are looking for an opportunity to launch their career in the fleet maintenance industry. In this role, you'll be responsible for performing DOT inspections on Class 6-8 trucks and trailers , ensuring vehicles meet federal safety and compliance standards. Geared up with a fully equipped, company-provided service vehicle and a supportive team that values your skill, drive, and dedication , you'll take pride in delivering thorough, accurate, and reliable inspections that keep America moving. Where You'll Make an Impact Perform onsite DOT inspections on Class 6-8 trucks and trailers in a mobile field environment. Respond to dispatch requests for scheduled and unscheduled DOT inspections. Use inspection tools and equipment — including tread depth gauges, brake stroke gauges, and other diagnostic aids — to accurately assess vehicle condition against DOT standards. Clearly and accurately document inspection findings, flag out-of-service items, and recommend additional repairs to advanced technicians for follow-up as needed. Stay productive and efficient, meeting or beating industry-standard inspection times. Take ownership of a company-issued service vehicle, perform maintenance and pre- and post-trip inspections, and ensure safety compliance. What Makes You a Great Fit Diesel, automotive, or heavy-duty vehicle technical training (technical school, apprenticeship, or equivalent hands-on experience) preferred. Familiarity with DOT inspection standards and out-of-service criteria, or willingness to learn. Strong communication skills
- you know how to connect and communicate with customers and drivers alike. Comfortable using mobile apps, navigation systems, and digital tools to stay organized and document repairs. Ready for the outdoors

- you take pride in getting the job done right. A positive attitude and safety-first mindset. Must be 23+ with a clean driving record and a valid driver's license. Work Environment Work in dynamic, high-traffic areas
- safety and precision are key. Expect exposure to dust, diesel fumes, and noise typical of a shop or yard environment. Safely handle chemicals, oils, and grease as part of repair work. Be ready to lift, move, and position heavy equipment or components. Stay active
