•This position is in the Excepted Service "under the authority of Title V, P.L. 114-328, Sections 932 and 1084 (FY17 NDAA)" This position is loced in Air Nional Guard (ANG) Aviion Wing, Air Traffic Control (ATC) Squadrons. The primary purpose of this position is: to provide tower, radar, and non-radar air traffic control (ATC) services to military and civilian aircraft opering under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR), Special Visual Flight Rules (SVFR), or Visual Flight Rules (VFR). Provides terminal ATC services to aircraft opering from primary and/or secondary airports within deleged airspace. Manages and directs controller actions and functions in Tower and Radar facilities as the primary wch supervisor and/or senior controller. (AOC) 1 ONLY. Area 1 : Current employees (Tenure 1 and 2 / internal to the Agency) Area 2 : All other applicants (external to the Agency).

• Temporary and Indefinite employees do not meet permanent tenure requirements and are not eligible for Area 1.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE

: All series personnel must be certified the next higher level before being eligible for th level and must have a minimum of one year on-the-job experience in the grade immediely below the next higher level. Must have the educion and valided understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupional series and grade. Experiences, educion, or training th demonstred the ability to follow directions and to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulions, and procedures and th otherwise demonstres the ability to perform or learn to perform the duties of the position. Must have least 12 months experience equivalent to least GS-9 or GS-10, respectively. Must be a gradue of a formal DoD/DOT basic air traffic control course and be able to obtain and maintain a facility-ring in a single ATC facility (Radar Final Control (RFC)/Ground Controlled Approach (GCA)/Control Tower).

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE

: To be red qualified for this position your resume must show definitively least 24 months experience in the following - in terminal operions, issuing control instructions to aircraft opering under visual or instrument flight rules or combinions of both. Have some experiences in a military or civilian as an Air Traffic Controller in a single ATC facility-red control tower air traffic facility. Initied and issued air traffic control clearances, instructions and advisories to ensure safe, orderly and expeditious flow of air traffic under instrument and visual flight rules. Experienced in conducting ATC facility training. Experienced in briefing shift personnel on runway utilizion, airfield conditions and weher/ground activities. Prepared and upded flight following maps. Performed some shift supervision duties in a tactical or fixed tower, radar, or AIC. Experienced work as a tactical air control team (TACT) leader in a tactical terminal control system (TTCS) or have experiences on deployed teams to remote areas to secure and set- up forward area refueling and rearming points (FARPS), LZs, HLZs, DZs and PZs. facilities; In accordance with the Code of Federal Regulions (CFR) 14, Part 65, Subpart B, Air Traffic Control Tower Operors, control tower personnel must possess a valid Control Tower Operor (CTO) certifice. This applies to any issuance of air traffic control instructions to airborne aircraft and aircraft on the ground, unless under direct supervision by a qualified air traffic controller. These certifices demonstre knowledge and skill in meteorology, basic air navigion, standard ATC communicions procedures, types and use of navigional aids (NAVAIDS), and directives, regulions, and instructions th regule air traffic control; Position certificions/facility-rings require practical and academic knowledge of the local air traffic control system and opering intra/inter facility coordinion. It also includes communicion systems, ATC radios, Local Area Knowledge (LAK) and specific procedures associed with the facility. MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS

In general, ATC specialists must have the capacity to perform essential functions of air traffic control operions without risk to themselves or others. Must have normal color vision; must meet the physical demands ring for heavy lifting work; and, must qualify physically in compliance with Department of Defense (DoD)/Federal Aviion Administrion (FAA) medical standards. An undergradue academic specializion in a technical discipline with courses in administrion and management is desirable.
