Job Summary Join our dynamic construction team as a Traffic Control Technician and TMA (Truck Mounted Attenuator) Driver, where you will play a vital role in ensuring safety and efficiency on construction projects. In this energetic role, you'll operate heavy equipment, set up traffic control zones, and provide essential support for highway maintenance and civil infrastructure work. Your expertise will help protect workers and the traveling public while contributing to the successful completion of critical road and utility projects. This position offers an engaging outdoor work environment with opportunities to develop your skills in heavy equipment operation and construction site safety. Duties Set up and maintain traffic control zones in compliance with Texas MUTCD standards to ensure safe work environments. Technicians monitor traffic flow, adjust work zone setups as needed, and communicate with crews, supervisors, and law enforcement to maintain a safe work environment. Drive TMA trucks equipped with safety attenuators to shield crews working on busy highways, ensuring proper placement and adherence to safety protocols. Perform manual handling of materials and heavy lifting tasks while adhering to safety standards for outdoor work. Follow all safety procedures diligently, including proper use of hand tools, safety gear, and traffic control devices to prevent accidents and injuries. Collaborate with team members on construction site activities, ensuring efficient workflow and compliance with project specifications.
Experience MUST:
have a VALID Driver's License
PREFERRED
have experience in driving a truck with mounted attenuator Candidates must possess good knowledge of state and local roadways and have experience with operating large vehicles of varying sizes Must be able to pass a drug test, background, and MVR check Knowledge of traffic control for work zones and familiarity with Texas MUTCD standards is highly preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot basic issues with heavy equipment like Caterpillar machinery or similar brands. Commitment to safety protocol adherence at all times during traffic control operations.
Pay:
$20.00 - $22.00 per hour
